Yes, it’s totally silly that one year after launching Tumblr, we’re moving the official Tumblr blog off of Wordpress because it was too much work to update.
We want to spotlight all of the neat stuff happening on Tumblr. So today we’re announcing the official Tumblr tumblelog: staff.tumblr.com
There’s a lot we want to do here. In addition to showing off the new features we’re building, we’re dying to brag about everything we see you folks doing. To cover it all, we’re inviting some new members of the Tumblr family to contribute. Introductions to follow.
Thanks, everyone!
New: High-Res Photos
High-resolution copies of your photos are now available for your tumblelog! You can enable them from the Advanced menu on your Customize screen, and photos that don’t have a click-through link set will automatically link to the high-res version.
These complementary theme variables have also been added:
{Photo-HighRes}{block:HighRes} {/block:HighRes}Please note: We’ve only been storing high-res copies of photos uploaded since mid-October, 2008.

Do you live your life in a cubicle? So does Shane Johnson. He’s decided to share his reflections on cubicle life by drawing on whatever’s handy—from envelopes to napkins. So, if your dreary day in the office is in need of a little lift, check out My Life In a Cube.
Feeling Kinda Blue?
Lessons in Loneliness is a year-long project that uses drawings to follow Blue, a person struggling with depression and alcoholism. LIL sheds light on the everyday thoughts a person struggling with mental illness and addiction may have. It hopes to create empathy and understanding for those dealing with similar issues. We won’t know how Blue’s journey ends until December, but LIL’s author promises an optimistic conclusion.
